Membership and Social Service Resource Coordinator

  • Fully comprehends, articulates, and reflects in professional practice the mission, vision, and philosophy of North City Congress*
  • Maintain an atmosphere of professionalism that is reflected in NCC customer service standards to all senior center members, staff, and customers*
  • Assists in maintaining a pleasant, attractive, clean, and safe physical environment at the senior center
  • Knows and follows all center policies and procedures related to daily operations of center using good judgement and problem solving skills
  • Serves as support for Center Administrative Assistant, Activities Coordinator, and Center Director
  • New member enrollment, processing of forms, and input into Client by Client system
  • Annual reassessment and file update for all active members and updating data into Client by Client system
  • Creating systems to track and attempt to reclaim outstanding members and bring in outreach contacts as members
  • Complete PCA and other funder required data input and report requirements
  • Provide counseling, advocacy, benefits assistance, and referral for center and potential center members
  • Coordinates Produce Voucher program
  • Develops, leads, and/or oversees social service related programs, support groups, and seminars
  • Maintains and keeps updated benefits and resource information to support center members and community
  • Provides program information and articles for newsletter and local newspapers and magazines
  • Responds appropriately to members’ issues and concerns in a professional manner
  • Maintains accurate program data and reports for consumer related activities (individual counseling, contact with members, termination, etc.)
  • Supports marketing and outreach activities within the center and the community, events, fairs, and conferences that promote the center and North City Congress programs
  • Conducts an average one senior center public speaking community outreaches per week
  • Participates in quality improvement and outcome efforts
  • Submits reports to and assists Center Director and Executive Director with required reports, audits, and outcome requirements
  • Attends NCC and funder meetings and trainings as necessary and integrates new knowledge and skills into position
  • Represents North City Congress on social services related community groups and committees
  • Assists Center Director and other designated staff with duties and projects as assigned
  • Performs other duties as requested


  • Associate’s Degree in Social Services, Social Work, Psychology, Gerontology, or related field
  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Services, Social Work, Psychology, or Geriatrics concentration a plus
  • One year experience providing social services assistance to older adults
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Vehicle with proper insurance
  • Prior experience in customer service
  • Computer literate and good working knowledge of Microsoft Office; proficient using Publisher
  • Exceptional typing and data entry kills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Physical ability to handle movement and lifting items up to 20 pounds
  • Criminal Background Clearance
  • Bilingual a plus

Salary: $28,000.00 /year
